Dear Parents/Guardians:
Shortly, we will send a letter from the WQSB addressed to parents explaining that schools will switch to distance learning due to the weather on Monday and Tuesday and that we will be providing learning from home on those days. Wednesday’s strike by non-teaching professionals will also be a day out of the building. Please note the following:
- For Monday and Tuesday, teachers will forward assignments for students to work on. Teachers will meet with the class online for an hour on Monday and on Tuesday. Your child’s teacher will forward the information to you regarding the schedule for each day.
- Wednesday’s strike day by the non-teaching professionals will be a little different than Monday and Tuesday in terms of the schedule. In short, we will follow the same process that was followed during the last strike day. Children will connect to regularly scheduled classes starting at period 4 in the afternoon. Your child’s homeroom teacher will provide you with additional information on or before the date.
Given the temperatures in the forecast and the special health measures still in place (masks in class, fans required to face away from staff and students, etc.), the board decision is one being made in the interest of everyone’s health.
Should you have any questions regarding the schedule or process being followed in each class, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Respectfully,
Eldon Keon
Principal
