Daycare Registration 2023-2024

The Lord Aylmer Daycare aims to provide a safe, positive and enriching program that complements the educational experience our students receive during the regular school day.  We achieve this in an environment that values mutual respect, high standards for behaviour, clear communication, and student-centered service.

Activities

• Cooperative games in the gym and outside
• Arts and crafts
• Board games
• Homework (30 mins/per day, Cycle 1.2 to 3.2)
• After-school leadership

Hours

The daycare opens at 7am until classes start and after school until 6pm.

On P.D. days, the daycare is open from 7am to 5pm

Parents and guardians are reminded that supervision begins at 7am and that children cannot be left unattended before that time.

Fees

For regular users 1-5 days attending at least 2 periods/day. For example – morning and afternoon or lunch period and afternoon is $8.95/day. For students only needing morning daycare (1 period) occasionally the charge will be $3.00/morning or for the afternoon occasionally $9.75/afternoon. Professional Development Days (PD Days) will cost $14.60/day.

Please note that as per WQSB policy, children registered 5 days in the afternoon are not assigned a bus for the afternoon.

September 30th is the last day for registrations.

Payments: This is our second year with online payments. Information on how to set up can be found at this link. We encourage online payments but if necessary, we can take cash payments at the senior campus between 8:30-11:30am and 2-5pm.

Payment Schedule

PD Days are separate from our regular school days. They are open to all students already registered in daycare. The form will be sent through the Remind App with a link attached to the PD Day registration form. We are no longer sending out paper copies.

REMIND and Parent Portal: If you have not already signed up for both, please do so as we use them as tools to communicate with parents. REMIND is used for messages and Parent Portal (Mozaik) is where you can find report cards, school fees and monthly daycare fees.

Guidelines & Policies

• All parents must enter and leave the building through the front door of the school at all times (except at the junior campus from 5:00-6:00 pm).
• Any medication will be sent to the school office with a written parental consent. Medication is not kept in the daycare.
• Please inform us in writing of any allergies or health problems.
• Please notify the school and the daycare if your child will be absent.
• Please notify the daycare if your child is to be picked up by someone else. Please be advised that the person will be asked to show identification.
• Children registered on a P.D. day, must participate in all scheduled activities.
• Please inform us of any changes to email addresses, telephone numbers or emergency contacts.
• For every minute a parent is late picking up a child after 6:00 p.m., an additional cost of $3.00 per minute will be charged.
• Children should have 1 or 2 extra snacks packed in their lunch for daycare time.
• Parents must phone the daycare directly at (819) 684-1494 to request a change to regular schedule.

Registrations

You must register your child before September 30th of each year to be able to receive the subsidized rate. If you register your child after September 30th, you will not be eligible to receive the subsidized rate and may be placed on a waiting list. If your child is registered sporadically with the daycare and you would like your child to attend on P.D. days, you will be required to contact the daycare 2 weeks in advance, to arrange, for your child to attend the P.D. days.

The daycare is open on most P.D. days (closed for August and end of June). The daycare is closed on statutory holidays and during March break. In the case of an early school closing or inclement weather, the daycare will also be closed. This would be clearly stated in a REMIND notice. Please note that the Daycare closes at 5pm on PD days.
