We have just been notified that the Ministry of Education has put in new measures for elementary students due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases across the province. These new measures are outlined below:
School Closures
Schools will be closed December 21, 22 and January 6. No schooling will take place on these days – it is considered an early holiday for students. On January 7, students will be working from home using a learning packet (not computer online learning). Over the next two days, your child’s teacher will be reaching out to send a learning packet to be completed on January 7. Students are scheduled to return to in-person learning on January 10. If this changes, we will notify our school community using the REMIND service.
Academics for Students for Friday, January 7, 2022
Teachers will email home a package of work to be completed on January 7. If you require a hard copy of the learning package, please email your child’s teacher to request one. Your child’s teacher will let you know if you require workbooks. You will be able to pick-up your child’s learning package/ materials at the Senior Campus from 9-1 on Wednesday, December 22. At this time, we are not sending home all students’ personal belongings (shoes, pencil cases, etc.) as we are expected back in class on January 10. There will not be a pick-up time organized for these items.
Rapid Tests
If your child has not yet received a package of rapid tests, you will be able to pick up a box at the Senior Campus from 9-1 on Wednesday, December 22. (Students who attend the school at the junior campus will also have their rapid tests picked up at the senior campus.
Daycare
If your child is currently registered as a Daycare student, daycare services will be provided, if needed tomorrow and Wednesday, December 22nd. Please contact Julie Belisle at jbelisle@wqsb.qc.ca to reserve a spot. If you are a healthcare worker and there is no adult at home (working or not) to care for your child, you can register for daycare services provided by the school. Please contact Julie Belisle at jbelisle@wqsb.qc.ca to reserve a spot. Please note this is only for Lord Aylmer students and spots are limited due to staffing.
Please ensure you are signed up for REMIND as all communications over the holidays will be sent out using this method. Our website has step-by-step instructions for how to sign up.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Respectfully,
Eldon Keon
Principal
