Dear Parents/Guardians,
This past week, Ms.Horner and I received several requests about a possible humanitarian campaign at our school to help the people of Ukraine. Monday, we held a meeting with our LA Student Leaders about this matter. The students all expressed an interest in raising funds for charity regarding what is currently happening in Ukraine. We discussed different charities that are accepting donations for Ukraine and also evaluated characteristics such as their focus (eg. children, refugees, general humanitarian aid) and the percentage of donations applied to the cause versus administrative and other overhead costs.
Our Student Leaders discussed the matter and a motion was passed unanimously to support the Humanitarian Coalition charity. If you would like to donate, please send any monetary donation (cash only) in with your child, starting Thursday, March 10th until Wednesday, March 16th. We will be making the donation on behalf of the Lord Aylmer School Community.
