    Newsletter #10 – June 2023

It is hard to believe we are in our last month of school.  The year continues to move at light speed!  There are many events planned such as end-of-year trips, our annual Home and School BBQ and Graduation.  We also are in the middle of a crucial evaluation time for reading assessments, tests, projects and grade 6 exams so there is a lot happening at Lord Aylmer these days.  Please help ensure regular attendance and morning arrivals that are on time to avoid missing assessments and important learning.  I want to thank our many volunteers for helping with our Lord Aylmer Track and Field Day last month and also a big thank you to Mr. Contreras and Mr. Olsen for organizing this event.  If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions that would help enhance the experience of your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Please see below, information about events and reminders for the upcoming week.

    -Eldon Keon

    STUDENT RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY

The June Recognition Assembly took place on Friday, June 2nd. The school value on which we focused in May was “Independence”. Congratulations to all our award winners. The focus in June is “Growth Mindset”. We are very proud of our students and appreciate their efforts in following our school values throughout the year.

    GRADE SIX GRADUATION

The grade six graduation ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 21st at the Senior Campus. More details will be sent to parents and guardians of our graduating students. Congratulations to all our Grade 6 graduates!

    KINDERGARTEN  GRADUATION (5-YEAR-OLD: K5)

For the first time, our school will organize a graduation ceremony for our K-5 students.  It will take place Tuesday, June 20th at the Junior Campus.  More information will soon be sent by the Kindergarten teachers.

    DAYCARE AND PD DAYS

Our last PD day is June 16th.  An online form was sent out June 1st with a link sent through Remind.  The form will close on June 12th at 12 p.m.  PD days are open to students registered in daycare (regular or sporadic).  The last day for daycare is June 23rd and please note we are not open for the PD days June 27th – June 29th.

The end of the year is fast approaching, if you have not yet returned the 2023/24 daycare registration forms, please remember to submit them before the end of the school year if your child will be attending daycare next year.

We would like to remind you that May payments are due by May 31st and June payments are due no later than June 23rd.

Please Note:  If there are any outstanding balances for daycare at the end of the year, those balances must be sent to collections and daycare services would not be available for the 2023-24 school year until the balance is paid.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Please contact Ms. Julie at 819-684-1494 if you have any questions or would like to arrange for a payment plan.

    ACTIVITIES AND FIELD TRIPS

Despite the ongoing bus strike in our region, we have been able to organize a number of end-of-year field trips (and other activities) for our students. Please reference the table below for the list of activities and dates.

    GOVERNING BOARD

The next Lord Aylmer Governing Board meeting is on June 28th at 6:30 in the senior campus staff room.

    LOST AND FOUND

We will soon send pictures, via REMIND, of all the items in our lost and found. Please take a moment to go through the pictures for each campus and contact the office if you recognize any of your child’s things. We will be donating all unclaimed items to a local charity after June 21st. We would also suggest that articles of clothing be labeled with your child’s name. All labeled items will be returned.

    REPORT CARDS

Your child’s final report card will be available on the Mozaik Parent Portal on June 30th.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS OR TELEPHONE NUMBERS

If you have any change in telephone numbers (work, home, or emergency contact), change of address or plan to move over the summer holidays, please notify the school secretary. It is important that we keep our records up to date. Please contact:
