Hello L.A. Community,

We hope you have had a wonderful week settling back in after the break.  Our third term is in full swing, and we are working hard here at L.A. We are committed to keeping up with the L.A. culture and community – creating a school environment that thrives on student voice, safe spaces, and ensuring most importantly that our students are having FUN and are HAPPY 😊.

FINAL REMINDER – RE-REGISTRATION 2025-2026

  • It’s time for re-registration for the 2025-2026 school year!
  • Attached are two documents: the Re-Registration letter for 2025-2026 and the parent guide to access the Parent/Guardian Portal.
  • The deadline to complete the re-registration via the Parent Portal is March 14th, 2025.
  • For any questions concerning registration, please contact:

FINAL REMINDER – Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Registration

  • The deadline for four-year-old Kindergarten registration is March 21, 2025.
  • Once registration is complete, we will contact all parent(s) & guardian(s) with next steps – i.e., confirmation of placement OR lottery process.
  • Please stay tuned.

Cake Raffle

  • L.A. will be hosting their next cake raffle in support of our Grade Six Graduates. All proceeds will support our graduates.
  • The cake raffle will take place on Thursday, March 20th in the Library at Sr campus.
  • Parents/Guardians/Students can purchase tickets starting Monday, March 17th.
  • THREE tickets for $1.00

Measles Memo – Ministry of Education

  • Please find attached an important letter from our Directo General, Mr. Singfield regarding rising cases of the measles in Quebec.

LAUNCH – mParent Application for Urgent Notifications

  • Please find attached an important memo from our Secretary General, Mr. Keon regarding the School Board’s new communication application.

Lights, Camera, Action – L.A.’s Drama Production is BACK

Outdoor Education Program (Five-Year-Old Kindergarten ONLY) – Declaring Interest

  • This year L.A. has piloted a new 50/50 French Immersion Outdoor Education Program within two five-year-old Kindergarten classes with raving success.
  • Our hopes are to continue this project moving into the 25-26 school year.
  • For ALL four-year-old Kindergarten parent(s)/guardian(s):
    • If you are interested in registering your child within the Outdoor Education Program, please email Karen Comfort at kcomfort@wqsb.qc.ca
    • The viability of the program is dependent on the number of registrations.
    • For more information, please see the attached information sheet.  Additionally, please don’t forget that our Kindergarten Open House will be running on May 16, 2025, from 10:00am – 11:30am. This will be an excellent opportunity to speak with this year’s current teachers to get a sense of the program and their success this year.

Nous espérons que vous avez passé une belle semaine de retour après le relâche. Le troisième trimestre est bien entamé, et nous travaillons fort ici à L.A. DERNIER RAPPEL – RÉINSCRIPTION 2025-2026

  • C’est le moment de réinscrire votre enfant pour l’année scolaire 2025-2026!
  • Vous trouverez en pièce jointe deux documents : la lettre de réinscription pour 2025-2026 et le guide des parents pour accéder au Portail Parent/Tuteur.
  • La date limite pour compléter la réinscription via le Portail Parent est le 14 mars 2025.

DERNIER RAPPEL – Inscription à la maternelle 4 ans

  • La date limite pour l’inscription à la maternelle 4 ans est le 21 mars 2025.
  • Une fois l’inscription complétée, nous contacterons tous les parents/tuteurs avec les prochaines étapes – soit la confirmation de la place OU le processus de loterie.
  • Restez à l’affût.

Tirage de gâteaux

  • L.A. tiendra son prochain tirage de gâteaux pour soutenir nos finissants de 6e année. Tous les profits iront aux finissants.
  • Le tirage aura lieu le jeudi 20 mars à la bibliothèque du campus senior.
  • Les parents/tuteurs/élèves pourront acheter des billets à partir du lundi 17 mars.

Programme d’éducation en plein air (maternelle 5 ans SEULEMENT) – Déclaration d’intérêt

  • Cette année, L.A. a lancé un programme pilote d’éducation en plein air en immersion française 50/50 dans deux classes de maternelle 5 ans, avec un énorme succès!
  • Nous espérons poursuivre ce projet pour l’année scolaire 2025-2026.
  • Pour tous les parents/tuteurs d’enfants en maternelle 4 ans :
    • Si vous êtes intéressés à inscrire votre enfant au Programme d’éducation en plein air, veuillez envoyer un courriel à Karen Comfort à kcomfort@wqsb.qc.ca
    • La viabilité du programme dépendra du nombre d’inscriptions.
    • Pour plus d’informations, veuillez consulter la fiche d’information en pièce jointe. De plus, n’oubliez pas notre journée portes ouvertes pour la maternelle, qui se tiendra le 16 mai 2025, de 10h00 à 11h30.
