Dear Parent/Guardian,
We did it! After two unprecedented starts to the school year, we are now planning a fairly “normal” return to school. Please take a moment to read through and familiarize yourself with the procedures below in order to be prepared for the first day of school. Our first day is Tuesday, August 30th.
Transportation – Great News Just In!
The transporters (bus contractors) and government negotiators have reached an agreement! Busses will be running on the first day of school. More details about pick-up and drop-off times will be provided to you as soon as it is available. Stay tuned!
LA is Growing!
We have received several applications for new registrations over the last few weeks. Although our class lists are completed, there may need to be some flexibility should registration require us to create a new group or to balance class numbers in the first two or three weeks of school. If this is required and your child’s group changes, we will notify you of any changes as soon as they occur.
First Day of School
We are very happy to report that parents will be allowed on school grounds for the first day of school. Teachers will be outside, arranged by grades, with large class lists. If you are accompanying your child on the first day, please help your child find the correct class by checking the lists. There will be other staff members available to assist children without an adult or adults who might also need some guidance.
Please note, parents will not be permitted in the buildings. It is important that routines begin from day one. We ask that parents say a quick goodbye at the doors. If your child (or you) are finding it difficult, a staff member will be there to assist you. It is important that the goodbyes in these cases be quick, for your child’s sake. We will let you know by phone if your child continues to be emotional after you leave. (It is very rarely the case).
Late Arrivals
It is very important that your child be on-time for classes and that this routine be established in the first days of school. If you are late, you will need to use the parent parking area located beside the large field at the Junior Campus or front entrance at the Senior one. Please walk your child to the front door of the building.
Daycare Morning Drop Off and Pick Up
Daycare morning drop-off and pick up will take place as it always has. Parents will park in the parent parking area located beside the large field at the Junior and the front entrance at the Senior. Please come to the front doors and ring the bell. A member of the Daycare team will radio for your child to meet you. Please do not use the staff parking area at the Junior Campus.
Our dedicated Lord Aylmer staff are looking forward to welcoming our students (your children) for the 2022-2023 school year. It’s going to be a great one!
Respectfully,
Eldon Keon, Principal
